A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
Welcome, and thank you for visiting Easthead Counselling Services, where I understand that life is a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, and that sometimes, we may need a guiding hand to navigate through its complexities.
I offer you that support and a compassionate and supportive environment for exploring your inner world and facilitating personal growth.
Beginning counselling can feel difficult and challenging, and choosing the right counsellor for you is an important step towards starting that process. You may not realise it, but you have already taken that first step and that takes a lot of courage.
Within the comfortable setting of my private practice, I offer a safe space where we can work together utilising a Psychodynamic approach to counselling. This can be beneficial for individuals seeking deeper self-understanding, insight into their emotions and behaviours, and long-lasting personal growth. It may be particularly helpful for those experiencing difficulties in relationships, coping with past traumas, or struggling with recurring patterns of behaviour.
My name is Victoria, and I am a fully qualified and registered BACP psychotherapeutic counsellor with extensive training and experience in psychodynamic therapy. With a compassionate and empathetic approach, I am dedicated to helping clients explore their inner worlds and cultivate meaningful change.
As a counsellor, I offer a safe and confidential space to those seeking to explore the deeper layers of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. My core training and approach is rooted in the understanding that our present experiences and behaviours are influenced by unconscious processes, often shaped by past experiences and relationships. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, this style of counselling aims to bring these unconscious patterns to light, fostering self-awareness, insight, and personal growth.
My practice offers a warm, supportive environment where you can explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion. Drawing from psychodynamic principles, we work together to uncover the underlying dynamics that may be contributing to your current struggles and challenges.
Central to psychodynamic counselling is the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. Through empathetic listening, nonjudgmental acceptance, and sensitivity, the therapist provides a safe space for the client to express their thoughts and feelings freely and in confidence.
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling allows us the opportunity to gain a better understanding of what may be causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing; help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do. This exploration and insight into your thoughts and feelings, help us to think of ways to develop healthier coping mechanisms, and ultimately achieve greater self-awareness and personal growth.
